The food arrived quickly and tasted good. Very nice shop. The staff was friendly and there when something was needed.
Nice little restaurant with a great atmosphere. Delicious Thuringian dishes that are freshly prepared and look super good. Service is friendly and quick. The price-performance ratio is right here.
Very nice, clean shop. The food arrived quickly and tasted excellent. The entire staff was friendly and always there if I needed anything.
It was a very nice evening at the Waldschrat's today. The service was nice and friendly and the food fits right here. A little chat about the bob and some very interesting information. Should we ever be here again, we'd love to come back.
Very good kitchen and very nice staff, prices are completely ok
Unfortunately only average. We expected a lot more. Nevertheless, the restaurant seems to be very busy. The service was not friendly but overall ok. You have to be happy for that in these times. The food came too quickly, right after the drinks. Better than having to wait forever for your meal, but it didn't create a good mood because there was no time for a cozy get-together. The food also at most average e.g. Fried potatoes mushy and not browned and crispy, French fries from the child underground, you can't go wrong with schnitzel, but salad and presentation are nothing special either. The ambience wants to appear sporty and rustic (Bob over the counter), but what that has to do with Waldschrat is not clear to me. Unfortunately, very disappointing, but Oberhof didn't have many alternatives at this point. We will not come back. P.S. Dear innkeeper ... Such a stubborn reaction from you tops it all off and confirms my assessment. When we visited, the food wasn't even mediocre. And I actually like to eat rustic. P.P.S. And I definitely get fried potatoes better.
Catastrophic. Waited 10 minutes until drinks were ordered. Another 10 minutes waited until drinks came. The same game with food. Waited a total of at least 30 minutes until food was consumed. At least the food came after 25 minutes. To eat: Schnitzel really great. Side dish cold and little. Service was overwhelmed. Only 2 stars because the meat was great but the rest was bad
We were already in the Waldschrat last year and felt very comfortable. The food tastes delicious as always and is served quickly despite the large number of people. What we particularly liked is that they pay close attention to hygiene. Every pen, every card, everything was meticulously disinfected after we used it. We will be back definitely.
Super delicious food, super staff. It was worth waiting for a table for some time. But the rush of guests is probably the reason for the good cuisine. We will try to get a table again today. Unfortunately it is not possible to reserve for 2 people. A little tip, maybe the wine list could be expanded a bit, whereby the Müller Thurgau tastes good too
The best!!!??????
Small and nice! Very nice service! Demanding range of dishes, from small to large, very large portions. A compliment to the kitchen! Feast for the eyes and the palate!
We were at the Waldschrat for the second time today and cannot complain. As the only restaurant open today and therefore very full, the meal was relatively quick. It was very tasty and, despite the hectic pace, it was lovingly and attractively decorated. Highly recommended.
We ate excellent at your place. Ox cheeks top, (huge) toilets with sauce, schnitzel according to the eater the best of three within a few days. Very friendly service, worth a visit! Greetings from Chemnitz
We were in this restaurant last weekend. Nice restaurant with nice friendly service. Unfortunately the food was below any level. We were surprised that we got the food about 5 minutes after we ordered it. Could only have been microwave. Never again. Instead of learning from criticism, we are now being attacked. Allegedly a lawyer is taking care of our legitimate criticism. This restaurant is the last in Thuringia. It's a shame that we have to give a star. This house doesn't deserve anyone. Unfortunately, many good restaurateurs have to file for bankruptcy in the Corona crisis. We would be delighted at this restaurant.
During our vacation we visited the Waldschrat almost every day for dinner. Unfortunately this is a bit hidden, but a line in front of the door gave us an idea of what seems to be special. So we lined up to get a table. After a while we were politely assigned a table, unfortunately with the nice weather in the guest room. A bob from the GDR era adorned the ceiling and we felt right at home. It was quite full on all days but our food was always on the table very quickly and served very well. Hard to beat in terms of taste, I ate the Thuringian Roullade several times, which is an absolute feast. The food not only makes the stomach happy, but also the eyes. We will try to get a table again. Unfortunately the Waldschrat is closed tomorrow and we have to go home on Friday. We have fond memories of the Waldschrat and will definitely be back
We would hardly be noticed when we arrived, afterwards the table was sprayed wordlessly and we went with it. The food came within a few minutes, but tasted like old frying fat. Pure mass processing, not recommended.
In the course of the 4th Rennsteig Marathon we had dinner in the Waldschrat. The lady in the service was very friendly, which we can't quite say about the (probably owner). A starter salad offered by the lady came to the table and was also eaten. Fried potatoes were requested and also ordered for a dish. Unfortunately, these did not come with the food. When we asked, we were told by the "owner" that his waitress was a bit spoiled (you don't do that!) And that the cook closes the kitchen so that no fried potatoes can be prepared. We were also asked why we order a starter salt that is not on the menu. At this point he did not know that the salad was already being prepared and eaten. The cook must have complained that this little salad was not on the menu. In my opinion, the dishes could be arranged nicer. A large porcelain plate with a small glass bowl on top, a fryer rack bowl and another porcelain bowl. All of this for a goulash with red cabbage and fried dumpling fries. (but that is a matter of opinion!)
The restaurant has modern and traditional furnishings as well as toboggans and bobsleighs as accessories. Despite the large number of guests, the food is served after a relatively short time. The taste of the dishes is very good. The cheeks could stew a little longer. The Thuringian dumplings are fluffy and taste great. The staff is attentive and very nice and friendly. We will eat there again.
We were here on vacation, this restaurant is highly recommended, great atmosphere, very nice staff and a great boss. The food was very tasty. Very inexpensive for these freshly prepared sumptuous dishes. 5 stars for this great restaurant ?6 stars for the chef ?? and 7 stars for the chef ???. Keep it up!
Uncomfortable handling in the canteen area in the uncomfortable tiled room in front of the kitchen! Everything just quickly, quickly, without nice words! Borrow cutlery from the neighbors, broken glasses only mass processing! The reviews here are in no way really like that! Or we had a really bad day! I haven't been to the wrong place! The room was at the entrance on the right, with white-orange slats in front of the window! I got cutlery from the neighbor's table and exchanged the glass! I just expected the name Thuringian cosiness! I didn't find that!
It was great here, we were served quickly and in a friendly manner and the food was delicious, especially the freshly baked cake ????
